She shared that Donny’s body is currently on its way back to Michigan, where he will be buried with some of his family members. The family is awaiting the death certificate, which will take several weeks to process, to finalize the funeral arrangements.
A fundraiser has been organized by Ester Stevens to help cover the costs of the funeral services and burial. As of now, $165 has been raised out of the $25,000 goal, with donations from Colleen Harns, Heidi Brininstool, Deborah Harns, and Krystal Cook.
On Facebook, many have shared their condolences and memories of Donny. Tanya Marie wrote, "The world will not be the same without you. If you can help the family please do. Donny was an amazing soul. I’m glad we had the honor of sharing a sister. Fly high my friend." Suzanne Miller suggested donating directly to the funeral home to avoid fees from fundraising platforms.
Donny’s mother, Ester, expressed her gratitude for the support, saying, "Donny was loved by so many! He and I talked via FaceTime every day, 3-4 times a day, even if it were for him to just say hi and that he loved me. I am still waiting for the phone calls from him, but hearing how much he had impacted and made others feel loved has helped me through this tough time. Thank you for all of the messages, phone calls, and prayers during the unexpected loss of my son. We have felt them and could not do it without the strength of your prayers, love, thoughts, and support."
