Drew Williams, Jonesboro, LA—It is with heavy hearts that we report the passing of Drew Williams, a beloved young man who touched many lives with his kindness and spirit. Drew was involved in a tragic accident earlier this week and was taken off life support yesterday at the tender age of 16.
Drew was set to start his senior year at Weston High School, where he was known for giving FCA messages and leading prayers over the morning announcements. As a star pitcher for the Weston Wolves, he was a leader both on and off the field. Drew was an active member of the Hodge United Pentecostal Church, where he participated enthusiastically in the student ministry, often dancing at the altar and sharing the message of Jesus with others.
The Jackson Parish Unity Team expressed their sorrow on Facebook, saying, "Drew’s light will continue to shine in our memories, and we are grateful for the impact he had on all of us. Let us come together in love, support, and prayer as we honor his legacy."
Many others have shared their condolences on Facebook. Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church wrote, "Our condolences to the family and friends of Drew Williams." Cassie Moore added, "My condolences to the family and friends of Drew Williams. Praying for God’s Peace." Fayetta Bradford and LaTrevious Bradford also expressed their condolences.
To help the family during this difficult time, a GoFundMe fundraiser has been organized by Sheri Whitney. As of now, $55 has been raised out of the $10,000 goal through the generous donations of Leah Beth Tolley and Tiffany Doyle. The funds will help ease the financial burden faced by Drew’s parents, Jason and Deanna Williams, and their family.
We are deeply saddened by Drew Williams’ passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and community during this incredibly difficult time.
