Duane Mitchell, Seabrook, MD—The family of Duane Mitchell is heartbroken to announce his passing after a long battle with health challenges. Duane, who had previously survived two strokes, tragically passed away on the morning of October 20, 2024, following a third stroke that left him with severe health complications.
In late July of 2024, Duane traveled to Charlotte, North Carolina, for a visit, but on August 3rd, he was found unresponsive in his hotel room. He was rushed to MCC Hospital, where he was diagnosed with a stroke that left him paralyzed and unable to speak. After a difficult month, his family was able to bring him back to Maryland for rehabilitation. They surrounded him with love and support, hoping for his recovery.
However, Duane’s health took a turn for the worse on October 15, his birthday, when he accidentally removed his feeding tube. He was rushed to the hospital, where doctors discovered internal bleeding and performed a blood transfusion. Though he was initially reported to be stable, Duane passed away the next morning, leaving his family devastated.
A fundraiser organized by Chauntay Brock has been set up to help cover the unexpected expenses associated with Duane’s medical treatment, rehabilitation, and funeral costs. The family is asking for any support to ease the financial burden during this painful time.
Our hearts and prayers go out to Duane Mitchell’s family. May they find peace and strength during this incredibly difficult time.
