Edison Willie Jr., known affectionately as "Jae," has passed away, leaving a deep void in the hearts of those who knew him. Jae was a kind, strong individual who overcame a difficult childhood, filled with challenges that few could comprehend. Born on the Navajo Nation, Jae was abandoned by his biological parents at a very young age due to their struggles with addiction. At just three months old, he was taken in by a loving family, who renamed him Jae and gave him the care he deserved.
Jae’s early life was marked by hardship, yet he found strength in his sister Amanda, who raised him with love and care despite the difficulties they both faced. Together, they became each other’s light in dark times, and their bond was unbreakable. As adults, Jae and Amanda shared many joyful moments, always finding reasons to laugh and smile together. This year, with Jae no longer by her side, Amanda faces a particularly difficult holiday season.
In August of 2024, after 31 years of searching, Jae was finally reunited with his biological family, including his father, Edison Willie Sr., and his brother, Eddie Willie. This reunion brought Jae a sense of peace, reconnecting him with his roots and the family he had longed to know.
Jae’s legacy will live on through his family and friends, and while he is no longer with them, he will be remembered with love and affection. Jae is now reunited with his late siblings Manny, Matthew, and Amber, as well as his late biological mother, Pauline Juarez, and brother, Aaron John, in the afterlife.
Amanda Curnow, Jae’s sister, has set up a fundraiser to help cover funeral expenses, a final gesture of love and remembrance for her brother. The funds will aid in providing Jae the peaceful rest he deserves, and the family is deeply grateful for any support during this difficult time.
Our hearts go out to Amanda and the entire family as they cope with this loss. May Jae’s spirit rest in peace and may his family find comfort in the beautiful memories they shared together.
We offer our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.
