Eduvan Guillen Vargas, a native of Matagalpa, Nicaragua, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2024, in a Miami hospital. Eduvan had been missing since July 13, and his whereabouts were unknown until his sister found him in a delicate state at a care center on August 9. Despite the medical care he received, Eduvan’s condition did not improve, and he passed away.
Eduvan’s passing has deeply affected his family and friends, particularly his mother, who awaits his return to Nicaragua for a proper burial. A fundraiser has been set up by Gloria Herrera to help repatriate Eduvan’s body to his homeland, where his mother wishes to give him a Christian burial. As of now, $250 has been raised out of the $6,000 goal, with donations coming from kind individuals such as Orbelina Morales and Ana Rizo.
The Nicaraguan community, both in the United States and back home, has shown an outpouring of support on social media. Many have expressed their sorrow and shared their prayers for Eduvan and his family.
Eduvan’s story is a poignant reminder of the struggles faced by many who leave their home countries in search of a better life, only to face unforeseen hardships. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his family will carry on his legacy.
We are deeply saddened to learn of Eduvan Guillen Vargas’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.
