He graduated from the Basic Correctional Officer Academy and reported to Ironwood State Prison in October 1999, where he dedicated himself to his work until his retirement in December 2022.
Edwin was also an active member of the American Legion, serving in various roles including American Legion District 21 Past Sergeant at Arms, American Legion Post 742 Past Commander, and American Legion Post 574 Executive Committee Member. Additionally, he served two years in the California State Military Reserve and was an avid marathon and 5k runner.
