Eric House, Rathdrum, ID Community Mourns a Beloved Brother and Uncle

Eric House, Rathdrum, ID—The Rathdrum community is deeply mourning the loss of Eric House, who passed away on August 14, 2024. Eric’s passing has left his family and friends heartbroken, especially coming just over two years after the loss of his brother, David House, on July 24, 2022.

Eric was known for his infectious laughter and warm smile, which could light up any room. He was a kind soul with a huge heart, deeply caring for those around him. His love for animals was well known, and he was a beloved uncle who cherished spending time with his nieces and nephews, taking them for slushies, to the mall, and to the movies.

His sister, Rhiannon Hurst, who is organizing a fundraiser to help with cremation, memorial, and travel expenses, expressed the family’s immense grief. "We are all broken beyond what we could ever express," she shared, highlighting the profound impact Eric had on everyone who knew him.

The community has begun to rally around the family, with early donations coming in to help with the expenses. So far, $85 has been raised towards a $5,000 goal. The family asks for continued support, whether through donations or simply sending love and positivity during this incredibly difficult time.
