Ernest G Villarreal, 71, passed away at Ascension All Saints Hospital on Thursday, August 29, 2024. Ernest was born in San Antonio, Texas, to Rodolfo and Julia (Garcia) Villarreal on May 16, 1953. He was a retired carpenter who spent his retirement enjoying dominoes, fishing, and listening to Tejano music. Known for his sense of humor and storytelling, he was a devoted family man who cherished time with his grandchildren and took pride in riding along with his semi-driver son, Jeramy, humorously claiming to be “the manager.”
Ernest is survived by his loving wife, Dolores, and their six children: Julian (Antonia), Dolores (Don), Ernest (Lauren), Rachel (Lucas), Donna, and Jeramy (Kayla). His siblings Pedro, Robert, Lambert, Felix, Reynaldo, Clam, Susan, Adela, Irma, Dora, and Santa, along with his 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Santos, Camilo, Benito, Rodolfo, Richard, Augustine, and one sister, Julia.
A fundraiser has been organized by Sabas Mata to assist with funeral expenses, with a goal of $10,000, though donations have yet to begin.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Villarreal family during this incredibly difficult time. May Ernest’s memory bring comfort and peace to all who loved him.
