Ethan Madsen, Birmingham, AL— It is with heavy hearts that we report the passing of Ethan Madsen, a beloved young man who touched the lives of his family in profound ways. Ethan, 20 years old, passed away early this morning at 4:30 a.m. after bravely battling severe Cerebral Palsy throughout his life. His mother, Crystal Madsen, shared the emotional news, describing Ethan as the heart of their household.
Though nonverbal, Ethan had a unique way of communicating love and joy, through high fives and the simple pleasures he enjoyed with his family. His passing, while peaceful, has left a significant void for his parents, Crystal and Paul, and all who knew him.
In honor of Ethan’s memory, Crystal Madsen has organized a fundraiser to cover the costs of his cremation and memorial. The family faces financial hardship as they navigate the difficult process of laying their son to rest and are asking for the community’s support. Anything raised beyond the cremation expenses will help the family during their time of mourning.
As of today, two generous donors have contributed: Jessica Brandley ($10) and Michelle Berrett ($50), with more support needed to reach their goal. The fundraiser has been organized through GoFundMe, ensuring that donations are secure.
Ethan’s family wishes to celebrate the "bonus years" they were blessed with beyond what doctors had predicted. Crystal expressed her deep gratitude for any help, no matter how small, to bring her son home.
We extend our deepest sympathies to the Madsen family. May Ethan rest in peace, and may his family find comfort in the outpouring of love from their community.
