Eva Lindsey Schrank, River Falls Community Mourns Talented Artist and Dancer

Eva Lindsey Schrank—Eva Lindsey Schrank’s passing has deeply affected the River Falls community. Known for her vibrant personality and immense talent, Eva’s loss is felt by many who knew and loved her.

Eva was a cherished member of the River Falls community, known for her artistic talents, heartfelt dance performances, and her active involvement in the LGBTQ community. Her legacy is one of love, acceptance, and artistic brilliance.

A fundraiser has been organized by Camryn Shea to commemorate Eva’s life through a memorial sculpture. The campaign, titled "Celebrate Eva’s Legacy: Fund Her Memorial Sculpture," aims to raise $5,000, with $70 already contributed by donors Sarah Anderson and Jessica Frisco.

Eva’s life was filled with passion and dedication. She began dancing at the age of two, excelling in various styles including tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, and musical theater. Her time at St. Croix Valley Dance Academy in Baldwin was marked by numerous competitive achievements and a deep sense of community. Eva continued to shine as a dancer at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls (UW-RF), where she served as President of Dance Theater and made significant contributions to the group.

In addition to her dancing prowess, Eva was a gifted artist. Her journey in art began in middle school and flourished during her time at UW-RF, where she established herself as a contemporary painter. Eva’s performances at the University Drag Show highlighted her confidence and joy, bringing her artistry to a wider audience.

Despite her many accomplishments, Eva struggled with mental health issues, including bipolar disorder. Her battle with depression and anxiety was a significant part of her life, often reflected in her art and dance. Eva’s decision to end her life has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and the community.

Eva’s friends and family remember her as a ray of sunshine, always making those around her feel loved and valued. Her friend Camryn expressed, “Eva was the kind of person that always made your day brighter. I’ll always remember her as the friend that made me feel most alive.” This sentiment is shared by many who knew Eva and will be honored through the memorial sculpture.

Eva is survived by her parents, Nancy and Jason, her younger brother, Calvin, and a loving extended family. Her memory will live on through the sculpture, which aims to honor her life and spark important conversations about mental health and depression.
