Felicia Chavez, Banning, CA—The community mourns the loss of Felicia Chavez, who recently passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Known for her strength and dedication as a mother, Felicia’s passing has left a significant void in the lives of her family and friends.
Felicia’s battle with cancer lasted a year and a half, during which she showed remarkable resilience. Her parents, Big Al and Keturah Chavez, have been her steadfast supporters throughout this difficult journey. Now, they face the daunting task of helping Felicia’s three boys transition to a life without their beloved mother.
To assist with this transition, Keturah Chavez has organized a GoFundMe campaign titled "Support Felicia’s Boys: A New Home for Healing." The goal is to raise $20,000 to create additional living space and make necessary upgrades to accommodate Felicia’s boys in their already full home. As of today, the fundraiser has raised $2,660 from 19 donations. The funds will be used to cover funeral costs, medical bills, and to build an additional dwelling unit (ADU) on their property.
Among the many heartfelt contributions, Chris McCallum made the top donation of $500, while Chrystal Domskie and Heidie Hilliard each contributed $50, marking their deep sympathy and support for Felicia’s family.
The community has expressed its condolences and support through numerous Facebook posts. Roxette Johnson shared, "Anyone that knew her knew she was a badass and an awesome mother. I hope this gets spread like I know it can so her boys can see the support she had behind her."
We are deeply saddened to learn of Felicia Chavez’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.
