A local sports icon, Toots made a mark with his athletic prowess, particularly in football, where he set a record for the most rushing touchdowns in a game—seven times over. His commitment to sports extended beyond his own achievements, as he dedicated time to coaching youth baseball and soccer, fostering values of teamwork and perseverance.
