Frank Falise—Frank Falise passed away unexpectedly last Saturday, leaving his family and friends in deep sorrow. Diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) earlier this year, Frank’s health deteriorated rapidly despite medical advice to undergo intensive treatment.

Frank was a cherished father, friend, and community member known for his resilience and kind heart. His son, Salvatore Folisi, has been trying to cope with the sudden loss and the financial burden of his father’s funeral expenses. Salvatore shared his grief and need for support in a heartfelt post on Facebook, highlighting the unexpected nature of Frank’s passing and the lack of funeral arrangements.

Salvatore wrote, "Hi Everyone. Most of you know my dad died last Saturday. I really appreciate the support and kindness you have showed since then. It’s good to see how many people knew and valued my dad, and to get to know you all a bit. Because he died unexpectedly, we had no funeral arrangements or money set aside to help with the costs. So I am seeking financial help with the expenses. If you are able to contribute anything at all it would be very appreciated. I just want to see my dad off in a way that is befitting to him and in which we can feel some sense of shared honoring of his life and passing."

In response to Salvatore’s plea, a GoFundMe campaign titled "A Dignified Funeral for Frank Falise" has been set up with a goal of $5,000 to cover the costs of cremation, burial, and a memorial service. Salvatore has detailed the challenges faced in the last months of Frank’s life, including his reluctance to undergo treatment and the eventual decline in his health leading to his passing on July 27 at Dove House hospice.

Frank’s diagnosis and refusal of treatment left his family scrambling to make arrangements in his final days. Despite the emotional and logistical challenges, Salvatore managed to organize in-home hospice care and support from neighbors like Tom Kuba, who generously helped with doctor appointments and bills.
