Galina Ostrajanskiy, Surrey, BC—Galina Ostrajanskiy, a beloved mother and longtime nurse, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2024, in Israel after a long battle with statin-induced myopathy. She was 64 years old. Her passing has left her son, Yevgeniy Ostrajanskiy, heartbroken and facing the challenging task of bringing her body back to Canada for burial.

Yevgeniy, who has lived in Surrey, BC, since 2007, is her only close family member. Despite his financial support and constant communication with her through video calls, he could not be by her side in person due to his immigration status and concerns about being drafted into the Israeli Defense Forces if he visited Israel.
