Gary Breen, Rome, NY — Gary Breen tragically passed away on December 6, 2024, leaving the community in deep sorrow. Known for his generous spirit and active involvement in local events, Gary’s untimely passing has left a significant void in the hearts of many.
Gary was a dedicated community member, organizing softball tournaments and supporting charitable causes such as “Shop with a Cop.” His passion for helping others extended to volunteering as a cheerleading coach for the Rome Colts, where he was affectionately known as the “Chuncle” (Cheer uncle). Even in his final days, Gary remained committed to others, organizing a benefit for a friend battling cancer.
Gary leaves behind his wife, Kortney Breen, and their children. A fundraiser has been created by family friend Gina Kierpiec to help with financial expenses during this difficult time.
