Gary Dean Zerbe, Mansfield, TX — Gary Dean Zerbe has passed away, leaving a community in mourning. Known for his dedication to his family and faith, Gary’s passing marks the end of a life shaped by love and perseverance.

In 2008, Gary married his wife, becoming a loving father to her three children. He was affectionately known as "Daddy Gary," playing a significant role in their upbringing, particularly through his commitment to their church and his guidance in their faith. Despite suffering a debilitating stroke in 2011 that left him with partial blindness and paralysis, Gary did not give up. He found purpose through his church and even returned to work in 2018 at Walmart, where he spent five years as a door greeter, forming deep connections with the community.

However, in the last two years, Gary’s health significantly declined due to severe COPD, which led to frequent hospitalizations. His condition worsened to stage 4 COPD, leaving him unable to continue working and ultimately losing his benefits, including his life insurance policy. This led to the need for a fundraiser to assist with his final expenses. Gary’s wife, alongside their son Daniel, is navigating this challenging time with the support of those around them.

Gary’s legacy lives on through his family, his church community, and the many lives he touched. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend whose impact will not be forgotten.
