Gary Nunn, Miamisburg, OH—The community is mourning the passing of Gary Nunn, a highly decorated Vietnam veteran. Gary passed away on August 29, 2024, following a series of unfortunate events that began with a car accident in December 2023. He was deeply loved by his daughter, Le Etta Wright, who describes him as her best friend and a devoted father who raised her as a single parent.
The accident, caused by an illegally parked car on a poorly lit road, resulted in Gary suffering a head injury from the airbag. This led to a brain bleed that was initially treated successfully. However, during his recovery in a rehabilitation facility, complications arose after an unexpected medical procedure left him blind in his right eye. Despite these challenges, Gary was recovering at home with the help of his daughter and her husband, who both quit their jobs to become his caregivers.
Tragically, on August 13, Gary had a fall that led to severe head trauma. Despite efforts to monitor and care for him, he passed away days later in the hospital. His death has left his family, particularly his daughter Le Etta, heartbroken and facing significant financial challenges.
To help cover medical and living expenses, Le Etta has set up a fundraiser with a goal of $15,639. So far, the community’s outpouring of support has been heartwarming, as they come together to help Le Etta through this difficult time.
The memory of Gary Nunn, his service to the country, and his deep bond with his daughter will be cherished by those who knew him. His strength and love have left a lasting impact on his family and the Miamisburg community.
We are deeply saddened by the loss of Gary Nunn. Our thoughts and prayers are with Le Etta Wright and her family during this incredibly difficult time.
