Gary Trehane— The Plymouth community is mourning the unexpected passing of Gary Trehane, who left us on the 19th of October. Gary was deeply cherished by family and friends, and his passing has left a heartfelt void in the lives of those close to him.
His daughter, Faye Trehane, shared the sorrowful news and invited those who wish to bid him farewell to attend a celebration of his life. The service will take place on the 14th of November at 10 a.m. in Ceremony Room 1 at the Park Crematorium on Merafield Road, Plymouth. A gathering will follow at Oak Villa Sports and Social Club on Ferndale Road, Weston Mill. In a tribute to Gary’s memory, the family is requesting donations to Cancer Research UK in lieu of flowers. Attendees are also encouraged to bring photos and memories to contribute to a memorial board honoring his legacy.
To further support Cancer Research UK, Faye has organized a fundraiser, which has already raised £95 out of the £100 goal thanks to the generosity of eight donors, including contributions from Paul Montero, Michelle Lord, Stuart Wallace, Tom Pearson, and Linda Stepp.
Gary’s memory continues to resonate in the community through touching messages shared on social media. Steph Miller wrote, “So sorry mate! You know where I am if you need anything,” while Marff Bailey expressed, “Always here.” Katie Elliott, Barry Maker, Sue Robinson, and Becky Potter all sent their love and condolences. Karen Smith added, “Sending our love to you all xxx,” and Sarah Toms remembered Gary warmly, saying, “Gary was the nicest man you could know.”
The family, friends, and community members will forever cherish the moments shared with Gary, remembering his kindness and warmth.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Gary Trehane’s family during this difficult time.
