George Lymas, New Castle, DE— George Lymas passed away unexpectedly just days before Christmas at the age of 57. His sudden death has left his family in deep grief as they navigate the overwhelming task of arranging his funeral during the holiday season.
George was a loving husband, father, brother, son, and friend. He was the sole provider for his family, leaving behind his wife and 11 children. His family had been separated for years, as George and his sister, Cyndi Howard, were raised in different countries after a childhood spent apart. Despite this distance, George maintained a strong bond with his sister, and she fondly remembers him as "Sis Cynthia" – a nickname he often called her.
George’s death came as a shock to all who knew him. Having survived a 20-year war in Liberia, West Africa, George had gone on to build a life and a family of his own. His passing has left a void, and the family is now seeking support to cover funeral costs, as George did not have life insurance to assist with these expenses.
A fundraiser has been set up by his sister, Cyndi Howard, to help with the funeral costs. So far, $150 has been raised with generous contributions from Monique Smith, Catrina Jett-Cameron, and Sherry Bowers Bradshaw. The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of support during this difficult time.
We are saddened by the news of George Lymas’s passing and extend our deepest condolences to his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this time of loss.
