Graciela Cruz, San Angelo, TX — Graciela Cruz, affectionately known as Gracie, passed away on September 15, 2024, after a courageous battle with stage 4 lung cancer. Gracie had faced immense loss in recent years, including the passing of her daughter and husband in 2023. Despite these hardships, she remained strong and determined through her cancer treatments, holding on as long as she could.
Her family, including her daughter-in-law Rosy Rodarte, had hoped Gracie would overcome the illness. Unfortunately, after months of chemotherapy and radiation therapy, her health declined about a week ago, and doctors indicated that her time was limited. Gracie’s passing has left her family in both emotional and financial distress, as they are now seeking help to provide her with a proper viewing, rosary, and cremation.
Rosy Rodarte has organized a fundraiser on behalf of Gracie’s son, Israel Cruz, in hopes of raising $10,000 to cover the funeral expenses. As of today, the campaign has raised $195, thanks to the generous donations from family and friends. The community has shown support with contributions from Marisol Barrera and Alexandra Martinez, alongside anonymous donors.
Gracie’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. The love and strength she showed during her lifetime continue to inspire her family and friends.
We extend our deepest condolences to the Cruz family. May Graciela Cruz rest in peace, and may her loved ones find comfort in their cherished memories of her. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.
