Hope Joyce Jager, a young and vibrant resident of Normal, IL, tragically passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2024, following an accident at her high school. The loss of Hope, who was just 15 years old, has left her family, friends, and the entire community in deep sorrow.
Born on August 3, 2009, in Naperville, IL, Hope was the cherished daughter of Jennifer Hanks Jager and Jesse Jager. She was a sophomore at Normal West High School, where she excelled in her studies and was actively involved in the student council and the “mock trial” program. Hope was known for her academic dedication, her love for her family, and her strong sense of community.
Hope is survived by her mother, Jennifer Homan, her fiancé Ruben Martinez-Sanchez, her father, Jesse Jager, and her siblings: Jarrett Homan, Maxx Jager, Nicholas Jager, Tinley Homan, Lillyana Jager, Skylar Jager, Annabelle Kuchler, and Nina Kuchler. Her grandparents, Robin and Carolyn Hanks, Michele and Tom Taylor, Helen Stanciu, and Mike and Patricia Jager, as well as her special aunt and uncle, Stephanie and Brian Nuttall, and numerous other relatives, also mourn her passing.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home in Bloomington, IL. Her funeral service is scheduled for 10:30 AM on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the same location, with Pastor Charles Ahrens Sr. officiating. A private family inurnment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Bloomington, IL.
A fundraiser organized by Meg Sanchez has been set up to support Hope’s family during this difficult time. The community has shown immense generosity, raising $3,925 of the $10,000 goal through 73 donations. The funds will assist with funeral expenses and other memorial needs.
Hope’s untimely departure leaves a void in the lives of all who knew her. Her joyful spirit, love for her family, and academic achievements will be fondly remembered.
