James Duffy, Montclair, NJ— James Duffy, affectionately known as "Chicago James," has passed away, leaving a deep void in the hearts of those who knew him. He had been battling several serious health conditions over the past few years, including diabetes, which eventually led to his passing after a diabetic coma. His struggle with pancreatic cancer further complicated his health, and despite his valiant efforts, he passed away.
James was a cherished member of the Montclair community, known for his kindness and willingness to help others in need. He lived and worked in the area for many years, building strong relationships with both friends and family. His presence in the community will be sorely missed.
His long-time partner, Melinda, is now facing financial and health challenges of her own, as she plans a memorial service for James after the holidays. A fundraiser has been set up by Harry May to assist with the memorial costs and to support Melinda during this difficult time.
As of now, $200 has been raised, thanks to generous donations from Gerard Citro and Harry May. The community’s outpouring of support is a testament to the love and respect that James earned throughout his life.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Melinda and all those who were touched by James Duffy’s warmth and generosity.
