James was born in 1950 in Seattle, Washington. He served a mission in Pennsylvania from 1969 to 1971 and married his lifelong partner, LaFonda, in the Salt Lake Temple on December 17, 1971. Together, they shared 53 years of marriage, raising six children.
James was passionate about genealogy work and authored two books on his ancestors, ensuring their stories would be preserved for future generations. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren, and his beloved wife.
