Janet Hagen, San Antonio, TX—Janet Hagen, a resilient and beloved member of her family, has been placed into comfort care following a series of severe health challenges. In June, she suffered a massive stroke, leading to her hospitalization in the ICU. Despite showing incredible strength throughout her recovery, fighting hard for months in a rehabilitation facility, Janet faced further setbacks when she developed pneumonia and became septic.
Janet, known for her toughness and determination, initially made progress, but her condition worsened with multi-organ failure. She was stabilized and treated with medications in the ICU, but after expressing her readiness to be reunited with her late mother and other loved ones, her family made the difficult decision to honor her wishes and transition her to comfort care on October 15th.
Her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Johnston, has organized a fundraiser to assist with honoring Janet’s final wishes and alleviating the financial burden on Janet’s sons, James and Billy, who have been deeply impacted by her decline. Jennifer shared that Janet’s strength and love have always been a source of inspiration for those who knew her. The family is now focused on making her as comfortable as possible during her final days.
The community’s thoughts and prayers have been deeply appreciated by the family as they prepare for Janet’s passing.
We send our heartfelt condolences to the Hagen family during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
