Janice Lynn Carter, Jackson, MI— Janice Lynn Carter passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 9th, 2024, leaving the community in deep sorrow. She was 63 years old and known for her vibrant personality, sharp wit, and warm laughter.
Jan was a devoted mother to Cody, Kayla, and Carey McCullough, and a loving life partner to Wendy Osinski. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Harley, and a family that includes her sisters Shirley Carter, Sharon Barton, and Joyce Roberts-Truman, along with several nieces and nephews.
Throughout her life, Jan worked tirelessly, contributing to the Jackson area by serving in various local restaurants, including co-owning McCarSki Cafe with her partner Wendy. In addition to her professional endeavors, Jan dedicated over 40 years to the Hand Bell Choir at Calvary United Methodist Church. She was an advocate for mental health and had a strong passion for her family and friends.
A celebration of Jan’s life will take place at Calvary United Methodist Church in Jackson on Saturday, November 23rd, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. The family invites friends and loved ones to join them for a light meal as they honor Jan’s memory.
In lieu of flowers, the family has established a fundraiser to assist with funeral expenses. So far, over $225 has been raised through the generous donations of friends and supporters.
