Jeff Parfitt, a cherished member of the deaf community in England, is currently facing his final days after a valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Jeff, who is 55 years young, has been a father to four wonderful children and a beloved grandfather. Known for his infectious humor and dedication to advocating for deaf rights, Jeff has been the life and soul of every event he attended.
Despite his terminal diagnosis, the love and respect Jeff has garnered over the years is evident in the outpouring of support from his friends, family, and the community. A fundraiser organized by Tom Thurogood has been set up to help give Jeff the farewell he deserves. The fundraiser has so far raised £210 out of the £6,000 target, thanks to the generous contributions of 12 donors, including a recent donation of £20 from Katrina Dunk and two anonymous donations of £25 each.
The deaf and hearing communities that Jeff has touched are coming together in support. On Facebook, friends have shared touching messages. Leanne Thurogood expressed, "Please help and mean lot to Jeff and his family. Love you Jeff." Natasha Adamthwaite and Claire Smith have also shared their support, with Claire stating, "I’ll share this page for you and Jeff and his family too." Laura S Leslie shared her prayers, writing, "Prayers for Jeff and his family."
As Jeff approaches his final days, the community he has brought so much joy to is rallying to ensure that he receives a send-off worthy of the remarkable life he has lived.
We are deeply saddened by Jeff Parfitt’s situation. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family during this incredibly difficult time.
