Jessica Lynch, a beloved mother and a vibrant soul, passed away on October 2, 2024, leaving behind her four young children and a family who cherished her deeply. Jessica was only 31 years old, but her life was filled with love, energy, and passion, especially for her children, Riley (12), Sawyer (4), Isaac (2), and Levi, just 8 months old.
Jessica’s journey over the past months was one marked by both immense joy and heartbreaking challenges. On January 20, 2024, she welcomed her youngest child, Levi, into the world with immense love and pride. However, soon after, she fell ill due to complications from the delivery. On January 27, she underwent surgery, but unfortunately, it resulted in a severe anoxic brain injury.
For eight long months, Jessica fought valiantly, cared for at Kingston General Hospital and Providence Care in Kingston. Despite the tireless efforts of her medical team, the damage was irreversible. On September 21, her condition worsened, and her family made the painful decision to move forward with palliative care. Jessica spent her final days in Hospice Quinte, where she received compassionate care until her peaceful passing.
Jessica’s four children are now in the care of her loving family—her sisters and mother, who are devoted to ensuring that they are surrounded by love and memories of their fierce, strong, and joyful mother.
In response to this tragic loss, a fundraiser organized by Ashley Greveling has been set up to help Jessica’s children and cover the costs of her Celebration of Life. Any remaining funds will go toward education and savings for the children, as the family navigates this difficult time without the assistance of government support.
