Jill Gibson—The Duncraig community is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Jill Gibson, a devoted wife, mother, and respected teacher. Jill’s passing has left a significant void in the lives of her loved ones and those she impacted.
In 2020, Jill was first diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer when her son Luke was only 18 months old. After a period of remission, she continued to battle courageously as the illness returned in 2023. Throughout her journey, Jill showed remarkable strength, facing treatments with resilience and a steadfast hope to spend precious time with her family. Despite these efforts, Jill passed away on October 24, 2024.
A fundraiser has been organized by Carleigh Boyle to support Jill’s husband, Shane Gibson, and their young son, Luke. The funds will help cover funeral expenses and living costs and provide Shane the opportunity to take time away from work to grieve and care for Luke. The campaign has seen donations from friends, family, and anonymous supporters, including contributions from Katie Hartrick, Karen Jones, and others, who have rallied together to offer comfort and support to the grieving family.
The community is encouraged to share this fundraiser, helping to surround Jill’s family with the love and assistance they need during this incredibly difficult time. Jill’s dedication as a teacher, wife, and mother will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Our thoughts and heartfelt prayers go out to Shane, Luke, and their family. May they find strength and peace in the love Jill shared and the legacy she leaves behind.
