Indian Trail, NC—JoAnn Worley Evans Kise passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024, after a courageous 20-year battle with lung cancer. Born on November 19, 1937, JoAnn was a cherished member of her community, known for her warmth, love of family, and dedication to her many hobbies, including drawing, painting, gardening, quilting, and baking.
JoAnn’s passing leaves a significant void in the lives of her surviving family members, including her daughters Deborah Evans Baker of Hinton, WV, and Sherry Evans of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by her sister, Nancy Worley Price of Asheville, NC, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Throughout her life, JoAnn managed several businesses and retired from Lowe’s Garden Center in 2002. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Thelma Worley, her husband, Don L. Kise, her daughters, Linda Dianne and Cynt Evans Green, her sister, Linda Jeanette Worley Ledford, and her granddaughter, Bran Green Sprouse.
In memory of JoAnn, a fundraiser has been organized by Chris McConnell to help cover the funeral expenses and other related costs. The fundraiser has raised $100 of its $6,000 goal, with the first donation coming from Soundara Sihapanya.
The family has requested that in lieu of services, donations be made to Atrium Health Hospice & Palliative Care in Charlotte, NC.
