Joe Colly, Brandermill, VA Community Mourns Loss of Beloved Family Man

Joe Colly, Brandermill, VA— Joe Colly passed away unexpectedly on December 9th, 2024, leaving his family and the community devastated. Joe was known for his vibrant personality and his deep love for his family. He was a devoted husband to Karen and a dedicated father to his three children.

His passing followed a series of health complications. Joe had suffered multiple strokes in recent years, but his condition worsened dramatically after Thanksgiving. Despite the efforts of doctors at both Johnston Willis and VCU Medical Center, it was determined that he had suffered numerous strokes in his brainstem, leading to irreversible damage. After being placed on life support, Joe’s family made the heart-wrenching decision to remove him from life support as it became clear he would not recover.

Joe was a man who never met a stranger, always ready with a joke and a smile. He loved all things Harry Potter and took great pride in being a loving husband and father. His loss is felt deeply by all who knew him, especially his family, who are now grappling with both emotional and financial burdens.

To support the family during this difficult time, a fundraiser has been set up by Allison Butterworth. Donations will help cover funeral costs and provide some relief during this challenging period.

The funeral will be held on December 21st, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Woody Funeral Home, Huguenot Chapel in Midlothian, VA.
