Jofarn Tapim, Mackay—The Mackay community mourns the sudden passing of Jofarn Tapim, who left this world on the early morning of October 27, 2024. Riding back home to his partner along Sugarshed Road, Jofarn tragically encountered livestock left unrestrained on the road, resulting in an accident that claimed his life. He leaves behind a partner expecting their child, deepening the sorrow felt by all who knew him.

Amber-Lee Dickman has organized a fundraiser to honor Jofarn’s memory and support his family during this difficult time. As a young man known for his infectious spirit and vibrant personality, Jofarn brought joy and laughter to those around him. A lover of life and a natural peacemaker, his charm, humor, and love for dance—often playfully claiming a relation to Chris Brown—endeared him to family and friends alike. His passion for motorcycles was part of his identity, and his community takes some solace in knowing he was doing what he loved.
