John Lawrence, North Ridgeville, OH— It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of John Lawrence, who tragically passed away in a car accident after a recent visit with his son and newest granddaughter. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
John Lawrence, a former Corrections Sergeant at Lorain Correctional, retired after 31 years of service, leaving behind a legacy of friendship and loyalty. A proud veteran of the United States Army, John was known for his passionate support of the Steelers, a diehard fan whose enthusiasm for his team was unmatched.
The Lawrence family is currently raising funds to assist with funeral and memorial expenses. A GoFundMe fundraiser has been set up by Samantha Valentine and Chad Lawrence to help cover these costs. Donations can be made online or in person at the service.
The funeral service for John Lawrence will be held on December 7, 2024, from 2 pm to 5 pm at Bogner Family Funeral Home in North Ridgeville, OH. He will be laid to rest on December 13, 2024, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, OH.
