Jose Manuel Alvarez, Brownsville, TX—Jose Manuel Alvarez is currently on life support after suffering a sudden brain aneurysm. His family, including his wife and five children, are facing a heartbreaking and challenging moment as they prepare for the inevitable.
Jose, lovingly known as Manuel, expressed his final wish to be laid to rest beside his father in Matamoros, Tamaulipas. However, the costs of transporting his body from Brownsville to Matamoros, as well as covering funeral and morgue expenses in the United States, have created a financial burden estimated at $4,000.
In response, Gabriela Serna, a close friend, has organized a fundraiser to help alleviate some of these costs. With a deadline to raise the necessary funds by Friday, October 4, 2024, the community has already started showing support. Donations, including $100 from an anonymous donor, $40 from Eladia Nunez, and smaller contributions from others, have started to come in, but much more is still needed.
