Josephine was a devoted mother and animal advocate. She trapped stray cats, ensuring they were spayed or neutered, and found loving homes for many. Her son shared fond memories of her always going out of her way to help, whether she had the means or not. Together, they cared for countless animals, including birds and even a bat they affectionately named Bobby. Though Josephine battled numerous health issues throughout her life, including an enlarged heart, valve problems, and Arnold Chiari malformation of the brain, doctors had expected her to have time for surgeries in the future. Tragically, her time was cut short when she passed away suddenly from a heart attack. Her son, Joseph, who had been her caretaker, is now responsible for the house, her beloved cats, and the funeral expenses.

Joseph shared a heartwarming story about the bond he and his mother shared over their love for animals. He recalled how, at 20 years old, they were helping a farm trap cats to be fixed. The farm owner offered them a cat as a reward, and though Joseph hesitated, his mother insisted they take home a one-eyed cat. That cat, named Adrian, became an important part of their lives, living three more years before passing away from FIP. Adrian, like so many other animals Josephine cared for, was deeply loved.

Josephine’s passing has left her son heartbroken, as she was his best friend and constant support. Now, he faces the overwhelming responsibility of handling the funeral costs, personal bills, and caring for their home and her cats.
