Josh Sloan, Chesapeake, VA—Josh Sloan passed away unexpectedly on December 1, 2024. He was widely known as the Captain of Sandbridge Rescue Squad for over 20 years. Josh was beloved for his kindness and dedication to the community. His sudden passing has left a deep void, especially for his family, which is still coping with the loss of their father just weeks earlier on October 27, 2024.
Josh leaves behind his brother Justin, his sister-in-law Megan, his nephew Corbin, his niece Christina, his longtime fiancée Cindy Brady, step-sisters Jordan Sloan and Jacqueline Sloan Ziegler. Despite the tragic loss, the family is trying to manage funeral costs, as Josh did not have life insurance or a will. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up by longtime family friend Christopher Harrison to help ease the financial burden during this difficult time.
A celebration of Josh’s life will be held on December 11, 2024, at 4:00 pm at Sandbridge Rescue Station 17, where friends, family, and community members are invited to honor his memory.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Josh Sloan. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this sorrowful time.
