Judy Tice, a cherished member of the San Antonio and Simi Valley communities, has passed away. Known for her unwavering dedication to aiding the homeless and supporting children in her community, Judy’s life was one of service, kindness, and love.
In the 1990s, Judy made a lasting impact in Simi Valley, California, where she devoted herself to transforming the grounds of St. Francis of Assisi Church into a sanctuary for The Samaritan Center, a resource for the homeless. This center, built with her and her family’s time and dedication, stands to this day as a testament to her efforts. Later, her outreach extended to the Denver Metro area in Colorado, where she continued her mission of compassion, working tirelessly alongside her husband to provide meals and care for those in need.
Judy’s passion extended beyond her volunteer work, as she was known for crafting beautiful afghans and crocheted items for children at St. Martin in the Fields Church in Colorado. Known lovingly as “Miss Judy” to everyone, she served with the altar guild and gave her heart to every effort, expressing her deep love for her community and faith.
Bethany Symonds, Judy’s daughter, has organized a fundraiser titled “Bring Judy Tice Home: Fund Her Cremation” to help cover the costs of her cremation. Despite all the love Judy poured into her community, her family is unable to afford the expenses needed to bring her back home. The family plans for Judy to eventually be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery beside her late husband, where they will be remembered together.
