Jules Aurel Noukeu Jugnia, Montreal—The sudden and heartbreaking passing of 17-year-old Jules Aurel Noukeu Jugnia has left the community in deep mourning. Jules, a promising young man with a passion for basketball, tragically passed away on Tuesday, August 6th, after suffering a cardiac arrest during a basketball match in a park in Montreal. His life, filled with ambition and joy, was cut short just as he was on the verge of starting a new chapter after recently graduating from high school.

Jules, an only child, was known for his infectious enthusiasm and love for life. His sudden passing has left his parents and the entire community in profound grief. The family, while dealing with the unimaginable loss, is also facing the financial strain of organizing his funeral.

A fundraiser has been organized by Judicael Frank Dzangue Yonta to support the family during this difficult time. As of now, $910 CAD has been raised out of the $20,000 goal, with donations coming from friends, family, and even strangers who were moved by Jules’ story. Among the donors, Dias Alexis contributed $50 as the most recent donation, an anonymous donor gave $150 as the top donation, and Saamah Mitshell Marcel made the first donation of $20.

Richard Jean-Pierre, a family friend, expressed his sorrow, recalling, "I’ve always been involved with my son’s friends and basketball teammates… this was a cool kid… just graduated and had aspirations to go to college… unfortunately, his time was cut short… 17 years old with a heart attack on the court… man imma remember this last smile he had when I told him I was proud of him graduating and to keep pushing… Mes condoleance a la famille RESTE EN PAIX YOUNG KING."

Others, like Lucy Glave, shared their grief: "This is tragic. My most sincere sympathies to his families and friends. RIP." Peter Yannopoulos, Wid Andral, and Shango Lord Duval also conveyed their condolences, with Shango writing, "Vraiment triste."
