Julie Ann Strate Gordon, Muskogee, OK— Julie Ann Strate Gordon passed away on October 27th, 2024, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, after battling complex health issues. She was 66 years old. Julie, a longtime member of The American Legion Auxiliary, was known for her dedication and tireless service to her community, particularly with the Sheridan Auxiliary Unit 75 and the Northwest Indian Veterans Association.
Julie had been living with her son, Jeffery James Gordon, and was preceded in death by her parents Betty Jean and Arthur Rulon Strate, and siblings Charles A. Strate and David Paul Strate. Born and raised in Sacramento, California, she moved to Oregon in 1990 with her family. After the passing of her husband in 2016, Julie relocated to Muskogee to live with her son.
Julie was the sole income earner for her family, and her untimely passing has placed significant financial strain on them. Her son Jeffery, who had been her primary caretaker, is now facing difficulties paying bills and covering funeral expenses. A fundraiser has been set up by her daughter, Jackie Ann Gordon, to help with these financial burdens.
In the face of this hardship, Julie’s family is deeply grateful for any support the community can offer during this difficult time. Julie will be cremated and laid to rest in a private family plot in California, with memorial services to be announced at a later date.
We are deeply saddened by Julie Ann Strate Gordon’s passing and extend our heartfelt condolences to her family. May she rest in peace.
