Kathy had been battling an infection that required multiple hospital stays before being transferred to a skilled nursing facility to begin therapy. Despite efforts to help her recover, the pain and confusion over the weekend became too much for her to overcome, and she passed peacefully without regaining consciousness.

Her passing was unexpected, and her family is grappling with the suddenness of it all, while also taking solace in knowing she is no longer suffering. Katherine’s final request was to be cremated and laid to rest near her family, a wish her loved ones are now trying to fulfill.
