Kevin Clarke, affectionately known as "Big Kev," has passed away, leaving the Mallacoota community heartbroken and in disbelief. Kevin was known for his warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering willingness to help others. He was a cherished friend, devoted family man, and a dedicated member of the Mallacoota Coast Guard.
His unexpected passing has deeply affected his family and friends, who are struggling to come to terms with their loss. Kevin’s friend Kristin Allen shared on Facebook, "It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our dear Big Kev. This is a loss that was completely unexpected, leaving us all heartbroken and in utter disbelief." Another friend, Shane Wolf, remembered Kevin as "a gentleman and a bloody great bloke and fishing partner."
In light of Kevin’s passing, a fundraising event has been organized by Kristin Allen and Audi Croft on behalf of Natasha Clarke, aiming to support the family during this difficult time. As Kevin’s family prepares for the costly process of bringing him home from the Northern Territory, along with the funeral arrangements, they are hoping to alleviate the financial burden.
So far, the community has shown incredible support, raising $1,250 AUD out of a $15,000 goal. Notable donations include $1,000 from Al McGlashan and $100 each from Nathan Hancock and Mark Reid.
Kevin’s passing is a significant loss to all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched, through the stories of his kindness, friendship, and the many smiles he brought to others. The Mallacoota community will forever remember Kevin Clarke as a beacon of light and a true friend.
We are deeply saddened to learn of Kevin Clarke’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.
