Kim Watson, Kennesaw, GA—Kim Watson passed away on October 15, 2024, following a brave battle with ovarian cancer. Kim was a cherished member of the Harrison High School community, where she had been a part of the math department since the school’s opening in 1991. She retired in 2020, leaving a lasting legacy of compassion, dedication, and kindness.
Over her years at Harrison, Kim touched the lives of many students, always striving to help them reach their full potential. She was not only an outstanding teacher but also a mentor, and her presence will continue to be felt by students, colleagues, and friends alike.
Kim was an ardent Georgia football fan, often attending games with her husband, Jim, and their son, Zack. Together, they traveled to bowl games and national championships, passionately supporting the Dawgs. Kim and Jim also shared a love for country music and made it a point to travel extensively, with a goal to visit all the national parks.
In Kim’s honor, the "Kim Watson Heart of a Hoya Memorial Scholarship" has been established. Organized by Meredith Bonanni, the fundraiser will help support future generations of Harrison students, ensuring that Kim’s love for education and her commitment to helping others continue on.
We are deeply saddened by the loss of Kim Watson, a truly remarkable woman whose impact on the community will be felt for years to come. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family during this difficult time.
