Komo Ananda, Collinsville, CT — The community is heartbroken following the passing of Komo Ananda on November 17th, 2024, at the age of 44. He tragically succumbed to complications from a staph infection, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and creativity.
Komo, who had a deep passion for writing and the arts, earned his BA in German Studies from the University of New Hampshire and an MFA in Creative Writing from The New School. He was also pursuing a degree in computer science at Manchester Community College in Connecticut. His poetry, including a piece titled Nor’easter, was published in Interim. Komo was known for his vibrant personality and the positive energy he brought to any room. He was fondly remembered as a "second brother" by Kimberley Palomar, who shared that Komo often spent nights at her house, a cherished part of her family.
A fundraiser has been set up by Kimberley Palomar to help his mother, Debra Cotreau, with the financial burdens during this difficult time. The community has shown overwhelming support, with donations pouring in to cover the funeral costs and provide assistance to his grieving family. As of today, $2,000 has been raised from 8 donations, with contributions from friends such as Krista Billard, who donated $500, and Joelle Pagani, who contributed $50.
