Hernando, MS—Lance Corporal Joshua S. Ose’s memory continues to live on as his family, friends, and community remember his bravery and sacrifice. Joshua, who was only 19 years old, passed away on September 20, 2010, during combat operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Despite the efforts to save his life, he succumbed to his injuries, leaving a profound impact on those who knew and loved him.
In preparation for the upcoming Operation Deep Blue expedition, Justin Ansel has organized a fundraiser to honor Joshua’s memory. This year’s 220-mile kayak expedition will be dedicated to Joshua, a way to remember and celebrate the life he lived and the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country.
The fundraiser, organized on August 8th, 2024, has so far raised $300 of its $2,500 goal, with donations from Mario Pino, Heidi Huber, and Andrew Dirkes, each contributing $100. The funds will support the expedition and will also be donated to charities aiding the families of fallen service members, first responders, and law enforcement officers.
Joshua’s parents, Sissy and Ross Ose, have expressed their gratitude for those who continue to honor their son’s legacy. Although nothing can bring Joshua back, the ongoing efforts to keep his memory alive bring comfort to his family and community.
We are deeply saddened by the loss of Lance Corporal Joshua S. Ose. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this time of remembrance.
