Lawrence "Larry" Posz, Lake Linden, MI — The community is mourning the loss of Lawrence "Larry" Posz, who passed away on July 26, 2024, at the age of 68, surrounded by his family. Larry was a loving, witty, and generous man, known for his humor and support for those around him.
Larry faced two different battles with cancer. In 2009, he was diagnosed with Stage Four Colon Cancer, which metastasized to his liver and lungs. After major surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, Larry went into remission. In February 2024, he was diagnosed with Stage Four Esophageal Cancer. Despite undergoing aggressive treatment, including chemotherapy and radiation in Washington, Larry’s health declined, and he was admitted to hospice on July 23rd. He passed away three days later at his home, with his family by his side.
A fundraiser has been organized by Gabrielle Hodges to help cover Larry’s funeral expenses. The goal is to raise $6,000, and so far, $575 has been raised from generous donors, including Gabrielle Hodges, Seth Kaulfuss, Abbie Sivonen, and Townsend Frank. The family appreciates the support and condolences from the community during this difficult time.
Larry’s memory will be cherished by all who knew him, and his legacy of love and humor will live on. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 29th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Pearce Funeral Home in Lake Linden, with a Prayer Service at 6:45 pm.
