Leanne’s death has profoundly impacted her family. Her daughter, Ella Doherty, shared a heartfelt post on Facebook, saying, "I lost my mum on that day, my sisters and brothers lost their mum, dad lost his wife (his queen), my auntie and uncles lost their sister, nana lost her daughter and my babies lost their nana. My mum was someone to everyone, a mother-in-law, granddaughter, auntie, friend and a pain in the arse. Anyone who knew my mum knows exactly how she IS. Gobshite, everything’s her way, there’s no one like her! And if you didn’t know her I promise you’ll forever hear about her. The best mum she could be and the best nana I’d ever want for my kids. She’s the reason we all are who we are. We’re all so proud of her and everything she’s done, she deserves nothing less than the best send off anyone can have. She’d definitely want something big and over the top, that’s just who she was."
Ella Doherty has organized a fundraiser to cover the expenses of Leanne’s grand funeral, as she would have wanted. The goal is to raise £8,000, and so far, £490 has been collected from 24 donations. Michelle Alvarez has contributed significantly with a £100 donation, being both the top and the most recent donor. Sarah L. Hankey was the first to donate £10 to the cause.
