Lee Hernandez, Redwood City, CA—The St. Pius community is deeply saddened by the passing of Lee Hernandez, a beloved and active member. Lee was a well-known figure at St. Pius, regularly attending the daily 8 a.m. mass and contributing her time and warmth to the community. She led the Young Ladies Institute, was a dedicated member of the Seniors Group, and often helped with church duties, such as preparing Christmas and Lent newsletters. Her presence was marked by a sweet nature, a generous heart, and a smile that brightened gatherings.

Lee leaves behind two adult children who are navigating this difficult loss, particularly her son, John, who often accompanied her to community events like the St. Pius Festival and the Lobster Feast. In memory of her legacy and to provide support during this challenging time, Kathy Martell has organized a GoFundMe campaign to assist the Hernandez family with immediate expenses.

The community has shown its support with early donations to honor Lee’s legacy. Stephanie Thorpe, Anonymous, and Josie Lucatero-Cuevas have contributed $50, $100, and $150, respectively.
