Lenny Redwine, Boulder, CO—The Boulder community is mourning the loss of Lenny Redwine, who passed away on Tuesday, September 10th, after battling complications from diabetes. He was 50 years old. Lenny was known for his warmth, a wide smile, and a laugh that brightened the lives of those around him.
A lifelong athlete, Lenny dedicated himself to sports, playing and coaching basketball, football, and track. Despite his declining health over recent years, he continued to support his three sons, Axum, Addis, and Tigray, attending their games and remaining a constant presence in their lives.
Lenny leaves behind his wife of 23 years, MiKacey, and their three children. His passing has been a heartbreaking loss for the family. To assist with memorial services, car repairs, and the ongoing needs of his children, a GoFundMe has been organized by Zoë Levitt, raising $100 out of a $10,000 goal so far.
Friends and community members have taken to Facebook to share their memories and condolences. Dawn HouseBraids Banks expressed her sorrow, remembering Lenny’s bright personality and the joy he brought to others.
The Boulder community has rallied around the Redwine family, offering love and support during this difficult time. The fundraiser aims to help provide a safety net for MiKacey and the boys as they navigate life without Lenny.
We extend our heartfelt prayers to the Redwine family and hope for strength and peace as they cope with this tremendous loss.
