Leonid Polelyuk, Bellingham, WA, Community Mourns a Cherished Family Man

Leonid Polelyuk, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on October 22, 2024, leaving his family and the Bellingham, WA community in profound grief. Known for his unwavering kindness, dedication to his family, and faith, Leonid was a hard-working man who generously supported those in need, whether individuals or ministries facing difficult times. His love for his wife, Olga, their children, and grandchildren was the cornerstone of his life, and he spent the last two years helping raise his two young grandchildren.

Leonid had recently returned home from the hospital after treatment for lung and kidney issues. Though he appeared to be recovering, his unexpected passing has deeply impacted all who knew him. To assist with funeral expenses, Lena Baydak organized a fundraiser, which has already seen support from friends and community members, including donations from Zena Boyko, Igor Shkurat, and an anonymous donor.

A memorial service for Leonid will take place on October 27, 2024, at 5 p.m. at Slavic Baptist Church, located at 1413 Broadway, Bellingham, WA. His burial will follow the next day at Enterprise Cemetery in Ferndale, WA, at 11 a.m. Loved ones and friends are gathering to remember Leonid’s compassionate spirit and his enduring legacy of faith and family.
