Lisa J Keenan, a beloved resident of Spencerport, NY, passed away on October 27, 2024. Her sudden passing has left a profound void for her family and friends, who are now coming together to celebrate her life and the joy she brought to those around her.
Born on March 26, 1963, in Ellsworth, Maine, Lisa spent much of her life in service to others, both professionally and personally. Throughout her career, she worked in various medical offices, including Strong Memorial Hospital Neurology, Dermatology Partners of Rochester, and Clear Choice Hearing and Balance. Yet, her most cherished role was being a mother to her three children, Tim, Brett, and Nicole, for whom she dedicated a decade as a stay-at-home mom.
Lisa’s vibrant personality was cherished by all who knew her. She loved the fall season in Upstate New York, with its rich colors and fresh air, and she enjoyed her many plants and time spent outdoors, especially in the Finger Lakes. A dedicated mother and grandmother, Lisa was especially close to her grandchildren, Nora, Zoe, and Briggs, who lovingly called her "Grammy." Known for her creativity, she poured her energy into crafting and decorating, a passion she often shared with her granddaughters.
A woman of strong faith, Lisa was deeply connected to her community at Webster Bible Church, and her belief in God remained a steadfast presence in her life, even as she faced health challenges. Battling Type I Diabetes, Fibromyalgia, and Lupus for many years, Lisa’s strength and resilience were evident to all. Her passing was the result of a sudden bout of hypoglycemia leading to cardiac arrest, a culmination of her ongoing health struggles.
Her memory will live on through her family, including her parents, Timothy and Joyce Bruso; her sister, Erica Pouncy; her children and their families; and her many nieces and nephews. In her honor, a memorial fund has been established by her daughter, Nicole Zombotti, to cover funeral expenses, and the family encourages donations to the American Diabetes Association.
Lisa’s light and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her family is planning a Celebration of Life gathering, with details forthcoming, to honor her memory and the love she shared.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Lisa’s family. May they find comfort in the love and support of their community during this time of sorrow.
