Lucas Garbarino, Utah— The community is in deep sorrow following the unexpected passing of Lucas Garbarino, who tragically passed away on November 15, 2024. Lucas, only 17 years old, was visiting family in Utah when he fell while rock climbing, resulting in his untimely death.
Lucas was known for his kind heart and vibrant spirit, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. His family, including his parents Marissa and Gabe, and siblings Caleb, Josiah, and Charlotte, are devastated by this unthinkable tragedy. The Garbarino family has been surrounded by an outpouring of support from friends and loved ones.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the family with funeral and memorial expenses. As of today, the fundraiser has raised $350 from generous donations, including contributions from Michelle Goedken and Lila Scheckelhoff.
Brande Sarabelle Dishinger, a close friend, shared her heartbreak on Facebook, writing, “This hurts my heart so much… Lucas you are so loved. Lucas was the little brother I didn’t know I needed. God and Heaven are lucky to have you now. We will miss you so deeply LukiePookie.”
The Garbarino family has decided to lay Lucas to rest in Utah, a place special to him. The visitation, funeral, and burial will be held at Leavitt’s Mortuary & Memorial Park in Ogden, Utah, on Monday, November 18th at 1 pm. A celebration of life will follow in Michigan after November 20th, with further details to be announced.
